Christmas limited-time event showcases “One Christmas, One Victoria Harbour”

The Development Bureau and the Harbourfront Affairs Commission have now exhibited "limited-time" Christmas installations at seven seaside venues, and will host a series of wonderful Christmas singing and dancing performances and Christmas workshops to showcase the vibrant side of the seaside.

This year's seaside Christmas event inherits the concept of "One Christmas, One Victoria Harbour" and connects seven seaside venues with the theme of "Your Show Time" - Kennedy Town Belcher Bay Promenade, Admiralty "The Connector Tamar to Convention and Exhibition Centre Promenade", Wan Chai "HarbourChill Seaside Leisure Station", Wan Chai "Water Sports and Recreation Theme Area", Causeway Bay "Vibrant Typhoon Shelter Theme Area", Fortress Hill "East Coast Park Theme Area" and Tsuen Wan Promenade. Various waterfronts are transformed into colorful Christmas performance stages, allowing citizens to participate and enjoy the rich festive atmosphere under the dazzling Victoria Harbour view.

The Christmas trees and installations at the seven seaside venues are each themed around a music or dance theme:

At the HarbourChill Waterfront Leisure Station in Wan Chai, there is an 11-meter-high giant waltzing Christmas tree, and a music box installation plays Christmas songs played by an orchestra, creating a romantic atmosphere;

The colorful pop music-themed Christmas tree at the Belcher Bay Promenade in Kennedy Town was created by local artist Messy Desk. Children can play with the speaker tunnel and various "music cars" under the Christmas tree, which is full of fun;

The Connector in Admiralty is themed after ballet, with white lights and a Christmas sleigh, set against a Christmas tree that showcases the graceful poses of ballet dancers;

The highlight of Wan Chai's "Water Sports and Recreation Theme Area" is the rock music Christmas tree made of LED lights, coupled with colorful rock music instrument-shaped inflatable devices, which injects a vibrant Christmas atmosphere into the waterfront;

The Christmas tree at the Vibrant Typhoon Shelter theme area in Causeway Bay is decorated with flowing ribbons, creating a beautiful spiral effect. Citizens can imitate different ribbon dance poses through on-site decorations;

The Christmas tree at the East Coast Park Theme Area in Fortress Hill is themed on jazz music. It is made of metal pipes of different lengths laid out in the form of bells, transforming into a Christmas tree that can be struck. There are also a variety of three-dimensional Christmas lights on site; and

The Tsuen Wan Promenade is themed on tap dance, with many cute little penguins performing their dance moves for the public, adding a lively rhythm to the seaside.

Starting from December 10, for three consecutive weekends, the Government and the Harbourfront Commission will arrange music performances, ribbon dance performances and "Christmas on Victoria Harbour Workshops" at four seaside venues: the Belcher Bay Promenade in Kennedy Town, the "HarbourChill Seaside Leisure Station" in Wan Chai, the "Water Sports and Recreation Theme Area" in Wan Chai and the Tsuen Wan Promenade. All performances are free of charge and the public is welcome to participate. Details of the event can be found on the Harbourfront Affairs Commission's website.

The "limited-time" Christmas installations and related Christmas activities at the waterfront are part of the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and are exclusively sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
