Lintian Mountain, hidden in Fenglin, Hualien, is 163 meters above sea level and covers an area of about 15,000 hectares. It is one of the three largest forests in the east.
It is currently the most complete and distinctive logging base left in Taiwan, and is also the most important witness in the history of Taiwan’s forestry development.
With the rise of environmental awareness and the implementation of a logging ban, Lintianshan Forest Farm has gradually returned to nature from prosperity. In addition to the original mountain landscape and ecology, the remaining cypress houses and transport railways in the forest farm present precious forestry cultural and historical features everywhere.
The beautiful Japanese-style wooden houses at Lintian Mountain are very eye-catching. There is a well-preserved forest railway for walking, and you can also visit the forestry relics of that time to absorb knowledge. It can also be regarded as a walking tour of the history of Taiwan's forestry development!
