The streets of Huanggang are not noisy, but have a subtle, everyday charm. The elderly men sunbathing under the ancient city wall of Huangzhou, the waters of Dongpo Red Cliff, and that bowl of hot dry noodles all make you slow down. Today I rented a car in the city and drove along the river; life feels so comfortable.
