Chongwu Ancient City is located in Hui'an County, Quanzhou, facing the Taiwan Strait. It is a "stone city" built in the Ming Dynasty to resist Japanese pirates. Here, the complete T-shaped stone city wall is preserved, and the simple stone houses blend with the magnificent sea view, which has both a sense of historical vicissitudes and a romantic seaside style. Strolling through the ancient city is like traveling back to the Minnan time 600 years ago.

Scenic Spot Highlights
1️⃣ Ancient City Walls and Stone Carvings
The city wall is 10 meters high. Climbing to the top, you can overlook the entire blue sea and the scattered stone houses. Hui'an stone carvings are all over inside and outside the city, from the statues of anti-Japanese generals to mythological figures, which are lifelike and can be called an "open-air stone carving museum".
2️⃣ Hui'an Women's Culture
The Hui'an women's statue at the entrance of the ancient city shows the image of local women's hard work and tenacity. You can also watch Hui'an women's folk performances on weekends (10:30 am/3:00 pm) to feel the hairpin flower fence and the fishing customs.
3️⃣ Seaside Reefs and Beaches
It is recommended to check in at the "Deep Sea Gate" black rock reef, where you can catch small crabs at low tide! The nearby Xisha Bay Beach is suitable for cycling to watch the sunset, while Qingshan Bay is famous for its fine white sand and clear water, which is suitable for playing in the water and taking pictures.

🎫 Tickets: CNY 40 for adults, half price for students/seniors, free for children under 1.2 meters.
⏰ Opening hours: 7:00-17:30 in summer and 7:30-18:30 in winter.
🚶 Recommended route: South Gate of the Ancient City → Stroll along the City Wall → Stone Carving Garden → Tianhou Temple → Deep Sea Gate Reef → Xisha Bay Beach (the whole journey takes about 3 hours).

🍲 Chongwu Fish Rolls: Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, full of seafood flavor!
🦀 Steamed Swimming Crab: Locally supplied by fishing boats, fresh, sweet and juicy!

Transport
🚌 Bus: Take the "Quanzhou-Chongwu" bus from Quanzhou Passenger Transport Center Station (CNY 15, 40 minutes), and walk 10 minutes from the terminal to reach the ancient city.
🚗 Self-driving: Navigate to "Chongwu Ancient City Scenic Area". It takes about 1 hour from Quanzhou city via Houzhu Bridge and the coastal passage. The parking lot at the scenic spot costs CNY 10/day.
