Gemstone Island Forest Park

📍Attraction Address: Gemstone Island National Forest Park is located within the jurisdiction of the Wulin Cave Forest Farm of the Dongfanghong Forestry Bureau in Heilongjiang Province, separated by a river from Russia. It is on the eastern edge of the Wandashan Mountains and the west bank of the middle reaches of the Ussuri River.
🚗Transportation to Attraction: There is no public bus🚌 that can reach the scenic area, only private cars and small passenger vehicles can enter, while large passenger vehicles have difficulty passing through.
👍️Must-Visit Spots: Gemstone Island Forest Park is famous for the self-defense counterattack battle of Gemstone Island in 1969. The must-visit spots are the relics of the self-defense counterattack battle at that time, and the border guard post which can be seen from afar but not up close.
Three monuments have been erected near the site of the self-defense counterattack battle, one is 'Gemstone Island', one is 'Gemstone Island Telegraph Monument', and the other is the 'First Victory in a Hundred Years, Sole Triumph on an Island' monument. There is also a sign written 'Gemstone Island Battle Site', and the 'Gemstone Island Border Guard Post' which faces each other across the river. The Ussuri River flows through here, with clear water and dense forests. There are cruise ships available for touring the entire Gemstone Island. I did not take a boat tour and just visited the area.
🎟️Ticket Information: Gemstone Island Forest Park does not charge an entrance fee, but you need to buy a ticket for a boat tour, the price of which I did not ask.
💗Other tips: Gemstone Island Forest Park is divided into three areas: development area, touring area, and production area. Currently, only the touring area is open for visitors, and entry into other areas is not allowed without permission. Moreover, the touring area is small and not suitable for large-scale visits.
