Just got back from Hulunbuir! Don't wear a skirt, trust me

Folks! I just got back from Hulunbuir and I have to warn you—don't wear a skirt! It was a lesson learned the hard way! When traveling on the grasslands, the weather is really unpredictable. After one rain shower, wearing a skirt will leave you shivering from the cold. Luckily, I brought a sun protection jacket to save the day! So, if you want to come to Hulunbuir, be sure to bring a jacket. The weather here changes quickly, so it's better to be safe than sorry! Today, I'm sharing my must-have items and travel tips for Inner Mongolia!
Clothing: Travel light and still get beautiful photos
One jacket is really enough! The temperature difference between day and night in Hulunbuir is huge, and it's essential for keeping you warm in the morning and evening. Pack a set each of short-sleeved shirts, long pants, and shorts, plus two long A-line skirts and one long dress. They're perfect for everyday wear and taking photos. If you like taking photos, you can buy a local ethnic-style halter dress. The streets and shops are full of them, with so many styles to choose from! Pair it with a shawl that costs CNY 20–25, and you'll instantly have a great vibe!
Shoes: Comfort is key—no torture allowed
Three pairs of shoes are enough! One pair of flats for everyday strolling, and two pairs of comfortable sneakers for walking on the ancient city's cobblestone streets or running around on the grasslands. Don't wear high heels, or walking will be torture. You'll want to throw your shoes away in minutes!
Sun protection: Full coverage to combat UV rays
The UV rays here are ridiculously strong! Sunglasses, a sun hat, and a parasol are essential, and you'll also need sunscreen and sun spray. It might be a bit of a hassle to take them on the plane, but be sure to reapply them frequently when you get there, or you'll turn into a "little black person" in no time!
Cosmetics: Travel in style and stay beautiful
Bring your lipstick, lotions, creams, foundation, and makeup—you have to stay stylish even when you travel! But remember to pack wisely according to your baggage allowance so you don't exceed the weight limit!
Other items: Practical items to enhance your trip
A thermos is a must! It's so nice to be able to drink hot water anytime. As for a power bank, you can charge it on the tour leader's car, so you don't have to carry a heavy burden!
Finally, here's a super practical tip: The attractions in Inner Mongolia are too scattered and the transportation is complicated, so driving is really tiring! I recommend joining a small, all-inclusive tour group. The group I joined this time was great. The tour leader was very familiar with the local area and could help us avoid all kinds of scams. Plus, there was no shopping, so it was worry-free and effortless, and I had a great time!
My friends, quickly save this guide and embark on a perfect trip to Hulunbuir!
