Jiugongzhai is located in Shibanchong Township, southwest of Lu'an City, 30 kilometers from the city center. It faces the Hengpaitou Tourist Area across the Pi River. It sits at an altitude of 349 meters and belongs to the northern branch of the Dabie Mountains.
The AAAA-level Jiugongzhai Scenic Area is one of the eight ancient scenic spots in Lu'an, and is known as "Miaogaotai, the Lotus Buddha Kingdom, and Jiugongzhai, Lingshan, Western Anhui."
Jiugongzhai is surrounded by mountains, with solitary peaks rising like towering lotus flowers. Below, the East and West Pi Rivers converge, creating a spectacular spectacle of undulating waves and blooming flowers. The area boasts peaks, cliffs, rock cliffs, valleys, waterfalls, lakes, ditches, and deep pools.
