Exploring the culinary delights of Yeongjongdo, with its refreshing sea breeze and ocean aroma, led us to this hidden gem. Aptly named "Squid Paradise," this place truly lives up to its name as a haven for squid lovers.
The interior is cozy and welcoming, and despite being a weekday, the restaurant was bustling with locals—a testament to its popularity. We ordered squid sashimi, fried squid, and fish roe rice, and every dish was a testament to the care and effort put into the preparation.
First, the squid sashimi! The chewy and bouncy texture was delightful, but what stood out was the generous bed of fresh vegetables underneath. It wasn’t just a garnish; the crisp veggies complemented the mild flavor of the squid, making it feel like a squid salad.
The fried squid was another highlight. The batter was light and crispy, while the squid inside was tender and plump. It wasn’t overly seasoned, so it was easy to enjoy every bite without feeling overwhelmed. Surprisingly, the fish roe rice stole the show. The popping texture of the flying fish roe combined with the nutty aroma of sesame oil made it the perfect pairing with the squid dishes. Every bite made us feel like we had made the right choice coming here.
If you’re looking to fully enjoy squid dishes in Yeongjongdo, Squid Paradise is a must-visit!
