Incheon Yeongjongdo Food Spot: Tongkeun Sotddukkeok Dakbokkeumtang

Today, I’m introducing Tongkeun Sotddukkeok Dakbokkeumtang, located in Unseo-dong, Yeongjongdo. This restaurant offers a unique cooking style where the dish is prepared on a lid placed over a drum barrel, making it visually intriguing and distinctive.

On this visit, we ordered aged kimchi dakbokkeumtang, rolled omelet, and finished off with fried rice. The aged kimchi dakbokkeumtang featured large chunks of aged kimchi, giving the broth a deep and rich umami flavor that paired perfectly with the chicken, making it hearty and satisfying. The rolled omelet was soft and moist, serving as a great palate cleanser in between bites. Finally, the fried rice cooked with the remaining broth was the perfect way to complete the meal.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is unique thanks to the lid cooking method, and the staff provided clear guidance on cooking times, ensuring a comfortable dining experience.

Recommended for: Those who love the combination of aged kimchi and dakbokkeumtang, anyone looking to enjoy both flavor and ambiance in a unique way, and those who want to pair a hearty broth dish with a drink.
