The History Museum is showcasing Goryeo-era ceramics that highlight restrained beauty. The exhibition features a variety of ceramics, from everyday containers to ritual vessels, offering a glimpse into the aesthetic sensibilities and lifestyle of the time. The celadon ceramics, with their thin glaze and grayish-blue hue, are characterized by their neat and fine texture. Their surfaces are adorned with graceful lines and simple patterns, blending practicality with artistry. Some of the ceramics were excavated from the Ganghwa area, reflecting the regional characteristics near Goryeo's capital, Gaeseong. Informative guides detail the production techniques and craftsmanship of the potters, adding an educational dimension to the exhibit. Under soft lighting, the ceramics exude a serene beauty, embodying the depth of time.
