Leh is such a charming little city—wandering through its old streets feels like stepping back in time. The whitewashed buildings with their colorful windows look amazing against the mountain backdrop. Even in April, it was seriously cold, especially at night. Most guesthouses don’t have heating, but the owners are really sweet about piling on extra blankets to keep you warm.

The food scene here is surprisingly great—from cozy Tibetan momo spots to little cafés serving amazing thukpa. You’ll eat well without spending much. The whole place has this laid-back, traveler-friendly vibe where you can just take your time exploring.

It’s the perfect base for trips around Ladakh, but the city itself is worth a couple days just to soak up the atmosphere. Cold but completely lovely. Just pack warm clothes and enjoy the slow pace!
