If you're visiting Leh or Ladakh and miss these two, you'll regret it!
These two places are not far from each other, but they offer very different experiences, both steeped in history and peacefulness.
🏰 Leh Palace
This 17th-century palace, built by King Sengge Namgyal, stands tall and towers over Leh. Although parts of the palace have decayed over time, its original beauty remains, including ancient thangka paintings, ceremonial costumes, and antique collections.
The highlight is the rooftop, which offers panoramic views of Leh. Visiting in the late afternoon when the sun is beautiful creates a truly magical atmosphere.
🕊 Shanti Stupa
This white stupa stands prominently on a hillside, built as a symbol of peace. The simple yet elegant stupa tells a story linking Buddhism and the friendship between India and Japan.
This place is perfect for both sunrise, when the first rays of light illuminate the white stupa, and sunset, when the golden light shines over Leh, creating a truly romantic atmosphere. The nighttime lighting creates a beautiful and enchanting atmosphere.
💡 Tips for Travelers
• You can visit both of these places in one day. They're not too far from each other.
• We recommend wearing a windbreaker/jacket because the mountain air is cool.
• If you love photography, plan to spend time at Shanti Stupa in the morning or evening. Your photos will be amazing.
📍 Summary
• Leh Palace = Historical stories + bird's-eye views of Leh
• Shanti Stupa = Peacefulness + breathtaking sunrises and sunsets
This pairing is a must-do in Leh! 🏔✨
