Tucked away in the northeastern corner of South Korea, Seoraksan National Park is a haven for nature lovers, hikers, and spiritual seekers. With its dramatic granite peaks, ancient temples, and vibrant foliage, it’s no wonder this park is a designated UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

🚌 How to Get There
By Bus: From Seoul Express or Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, take an intercity bus to Sokcho (~2.5 hours). Then hop on local bus #7 or #7-1 to the park entrance.
By Car: About 2.5 hours from Seoul via Gyeongbu and Yeongdong Expressways.
🏔️ A Glimpse into History
The name “Seoraksan” means “Snowy Crag Mountains,” a nod to its snow-covered peaks in winter. The park is home to Sinheungsa Temple, a spiritual site with one of Korea’s largest seated bronze Buddha statues, and the ancient Gwongeumseong Fortress ruins perched high above the valley.
