Recently had the pleasure of dining with local friends at Hibiscus Cuisine, Ipoh Dim Sum, a delightful halal Dim Sum restaurant that blends traditional Chinese flavours with Muslim-friendly offerings a rare and much-appreciated find.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The ambiance was cozy with spacious seating ideal for groups. It’s clear the place is popular with families and friends gathering for weekend brunch.
The menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of steamed and fried Dim Sum, along with local Malay delights and a selection of international dishes. We enjoyed classics like Chicken/Prawn Siew Mai, Fried Radish Cake with Big Prawn, Hong Kong Cheong Fun, Fried Prawn Rolls, each dish beautifully presented and full of flavour.
The Golden Juicy Pau and Mini Rendang Beef Pau were a standout, flavourful and savory filling. Their Chicken Chop Rice & Kimchi Ramen with Prawns also earned high praise.
What made the experience even better was the friendly and attentive service. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and accommodating when it came to dietary preferences and explaining ingredients, which added to the sense of comfort and hospitality.
Sharing a variety of Dim Sum dishes with local friends in a halal setting made the meal feel extra special. The communal style of dining really enhanced the conversation and bonding, as we passed bamboo steamers around the table and sampled bite after bite of flavourful delights.
