The place is Funny Mountain Soya Bean & Tau Fu Fah in Ipoh – one of those iconic stops you always hear about when it comes to local desserts. This time, I skipped the usual tau fu fah and went for something different: soya with cincau (grass jelly).
It was exactly what I needed – super refreshing under the afternoon heat. The soya milk was silky-smooth with just the right amount of sweetness, and the cincau added that lovely herbal note and soft, bouncy texture. It’s simple, nostalgic, and really satisfying.
There’s no place to sit, so I just enjoyed it by the roadside like many others. A quick pit stop that’s well worth it if you’re in Ipoh!
Travel Tips & How to Get There
• 📍 Located on Jalan Mustapha Al-Bakri, right across from Lou Wong Chicken Rice
• 🕘 Opens around 10:30 AM, but it’s best to come early – they sell out quickly
• 🅿️ Limited parking available, but you can also just walk up or drive through
• 🌿 Try other versions too – plain soya, tau fu fah, or soya with ginger syrup
