Kanazawa Castle Park

Getting there: You can take a bus and get off at Kenrokuen-shita bus stop, and have a short walk to the castle park.

Highlights: Kanazawa Castle Park is a large park in the center of Kanazawa and is accessible from many different sides of entrance.

Many features of the castle have been destroyed over its long history. Two of its longest lasting features are the Ishikawa-mon Gate, which was rebuilt in 1788, and the Sanjikken Nagaya which was rebuilt in 1858. Both of them have been designated as important cultural assets.

If you visit the garden after sunset, you can enjoy a captivating lights show.

Opening hours: 8am to 5pm daily.
