Pierre Loti Hill: A View Over Istanbul

Situated adjacent to the Eyup district, this hill is easily reached by cable car and bears the name of the French poet and commander Pierre Loti, who spent years in Istanbul and frequented this spot. The hill is used as a cemetery, interestingly enough, yet the sight of the graveyard has a certain charm, and the vista from the top is stunning, offering a sweeping view of the Golden Horn and the historic European part of the city. Numerous cafes are available, including the famously named Loti Café.
