Istanbul 6 Days Itinerary

🇹🇷🌇 Istanbul — A City Where Two Worlds Meet 🇹🇷

It’s hard to describe Istanbul in just a few words — it’s history, chaos, charm, and culture all wrapped into one. One moment you’re walking through an ancient mosque, and the next you’re sipping Turkish tea by the Bosphorus, watching ferries cross between Europe and Asia.

The Hagia Sophia took my breath away — its golden domes and mosaic-covered walls remind you how powerful this city once was. Just across the square, the Blue Mosque stands proud with its six minarets, and hearing the call to prayer echo through the air feels truly special.

I also wandered through the Grand Bazaar, one of the world’s oldest markets. It’s full of colourful lamps, handwoven carpets, spices, and shopkeepers calling out friendly hellos. Don’t forget to try Turkish delight — it’s impossible to eat just one!

But my favourite spot was hidden below the busy streets — the Basilica Cistern. Stepping inside feels like entering another world: hundreds of marble columns rising from still water, dim lighting, and the quiet sound of dripping echoing through the chamber. At the far end, two Medusa heads guard the shadows — mysterious and beautiful.

To explore easily, I rented an e-scooter and rode along the waterfront to Karaköy and Balat — two colourful neighbourhoods full of cafés, street art, and locals enjoying the evening breeze.

Istanbul isn’t just a destination; it’s an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left. Every corner has a story, and every sunset over the Bosphorus makes you fall a little more in love with this city. 🌅✨

A few tips: wear comfy shoes (the hills are real!), visit early to avoid crowds, and take time to simply sit by the water with a cup of çay — that’s when you really feel Istanbul.
