Waking up early in Istanbul feels like living in a dream. The city slowly comes alive with the sound of seagulls and ferry horns echoing over the Bosphorus. I walked down to the water just as the first light touched the domes of the mosques, painting everything gold. Locals were already sipping Turkish tea and chatting before work, while fishermen lined the Galata Bridge. I tried simit — the crispy sesame bread — with a bit of cheese, and it instantly became my favorite breakfast. The gentle mist over the strait, the energy of people, and the smell of the sea together create a rhythm that’s impossible to forget. Istanbul in the morning is pure poetry.
