Istanbul Attractions: Hagia Sophia
Popular must-see attractions in Istanbul, Turkey❣️
The 1,500-year-old Hagia Sophia was changed from a "museum" back to a "mosque" in 2020. The supervisory unit was changed from the Cultural and Tourism Bureau to the Religious Affairs Bureau, and it was opened for Muslim gatherings.
👉🏻No need to buy tickets, please note that the waiting time is quite long, and there is a constant queue outside the venue. It is recommended to reserve at least half an hour waiting time🙆🏻♀️
👉🏻The mosque will be temporarily closed to the public during the worship hours, please pay attention to the announcement outside the venue🪧Online information is less circulated, and the chance of "touching the door nail" is quite high😂You can dine at a nearby restaurant first, or visit nearby attractions (Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, etc.)🙆🏻♀️
👉🏻You must dress modestly when visiting a mosque. Women need to wrap their hair with a headscarf. 🧕You also need to take off your shoes when entering the mosque. There is a shoe cabinet outside to store your shoes.🥾
Transportation: Very convenient, just a few minutes walk from Sultanahmet Station on Metro Line T1
