Turkey: Hagia Sophia museum

This place is a must visit in Istanbul. Impressive Hagia Sophia is one of the best examples of the fusion of two great cultures the Byzantine and the Ottoman. I was amazed how such a huge and a massive structure could be built through thousand years ago.
Famous for its massive dome, Hagia Sophia was originally founded during the Byzantine empire as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral later on, it went through different lives as a Roman Catholic cathedral and a mosque. Later, Hagia Sophia existed as a museum.#hagiasophia
Nowadays, it turned back to mosque by the Turkish government. these days and you can only visit the second floor. The ground floor is for prayers only, but you can see everything from the second floor. The queues can be long, but don’t give up and wait as long as it’s needed as the architecture of this historical monument is magnificent.
