If you’re a ramen lover visiting Fukuoka, ICHIRAN no Mori in Itoshima is a must-visit spot that offers more than just a bowl of noodles — it’s a full ICHIRAN experience.
Located in a quiet, forested area of Itoshima, this facility is where the magic of ICHIRAN ramen begins. We were fascinated to see the actual production factory, where the famous tonkotsu broth and noodles are made. You can’t go into the full production line, of course, but from the viewing areas, you get a good glimpse into the process behind this beloved brand.
Right beside the factory is a small museum that walks you through the history of ICHIRAN — from its humble beginnings to becoming one of Japan’s most iconic ramen brands. It’s surprisingly informative and visually engaging.
Of course, the highlight was slurping down a hot bowl of ICHIRAN ramen at the on-site restaurant. The setup is just like the traditional solo booths you find in their city outlets, giving you that classic “focus on flavor” experience. After all the exploring, the rich, flavorful tonkotsu broth hit the spot perfectly.
There are ample parking lots available, which is convenient since this location is best accessed by car. The peaceful setting of the surrounding area also adds to the charm — ramen with a view of the forest? Yes, please.

Definitely worth the drive out of Fukuoka city — especially if you’re a fan of ICHIRAN or simply want to enjoy a delicious bowl of ramen in a unique and immersive setting.
