Starting from Fukuoka, the century-old red brick building "Mojiko Station" stands quietly beside the Kanmon Strait. As the oldest wooden station in Kyushu, the high dome and retro ticket windows fully retain the romantic style of the Taisho period. The various traces of the station testify that this was once the starting point of the Kyushu Railway, and the observation deck can also have a panoramic view of the Shimonoseki city on the opposite bank🌊.

The Kyushu Railway Memorial Museum is just a short walk away and will definitely delight railway fans! Real steam locomotives and Shinkansen prototypes are on display outdoors, while railway relics from the Meiji period are housed inside the museum.
