Route: Olle Trail No. 7 (straight through, follow the blue markers)
Distance: Total 12.9 km, we ended up walking 17 km (probably because of taking photos back and forth)
Time: Departed downtown at 9 AM, arrived back downtown at 7 PM
Starting Point: Olle Stay / Jeju Olle Tourist Center
Stamp Point in the Middle: Dumoni Water Park (near the end)
End Point: Seogwipo Bus Terminal
Tips:
No worries ⬇️
1. There are ribbons and signposts along the way (p11), especially at turns, with clear indications. We didn’t use navigation this time and had a smooth walk.
2. There are many convenience stores and coffee shops along the route, so no need to worry about supplies. You can carry less to lighten your load.
Things to Note ⚠️
1. The weather in Jeju Island changes several times a day. It’s hot when the sun is out and cold when it’s not. We kept putting on and taking off clothes along the way, so make sure to bring enough!
2. There are many uphill climbs and stairs, which can be quite tiring. The path includes cement roads, gravel roads, stairs, dirt roads, and more, so choosing the right shoes is crucial! This greatly affects the experience! I wore trail running shoes and was fine, but my friend wore casual shoes and ended up with sore feet, unable to walk.
3. Jeju Island only has sidewalks on one side (if going straight through), and you’ll notice the ribbons are all on the left side of the road.
Overall, the No. 7 trail offers quite a variety of scenery and several types of road conditions. Exploring a city this way is quite interesting. I hope to challenge myself to a 100 km hike next time if I get the chance.
