Lake Pukaki boasts a unique color unlike any lake I've ever seen. It was truly "Milky Blue," a mysterious, deep turquoise, like milk. On a clear September day, the magnificent snow-capped peak of Aoraki/Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest peak, unfolded like a folding screen behind the lake, a breathtaking sight. The lake's color was so intense that it felt almost unreal, almost like a Photoshop filter had been applied. Thanks to the September TravelSupport, I was able to experience this wondrous natural color firsthand. The panoramic view of Mount Cook from the Lookout on the lakeshore is a must-see photo opportunity. It was nature's most perfect painting.
