📍Jiangxi · Diaoyuan Ancient Village
Blue bricks and black tiles, the scent of camphor lingers.
This was once the "Little Nanjing" of Luling, where the prosperous old dreams can still be found. Today, in this ancient village inhabited by the descendants of Ouyang Xiu for thousands of years, over 150 Gan-style Ming and Qing dynasty old houses are arranged according to the Bagua layout, following the mountain terrain. More than 20,000 ancient camphor trees wind and hide among the buildings, and the Seven Star ponds connect like stars fallen to the ground. Strolling here, the scenery changes with every step, as if walking into a breathing Jiangnan ink painting.

The soul of Diaoyuan is hidden in the crisscrossing alleys.
Eight ancestral halls stand quietly as guardians of time, including one main Ouyang clan ancestral hall and seven branch halls.
After careful renovation, they have transformed into rural art galleries where ancient rituals and contemporary aesthetics resonate, serving as an important cultural living room of Diaoyuan Ancient Village.
Other main architectural attractions:
Wenzhonggong Ancestral Hall | Northern Song dynasty style, with long corridors, courtyards, covered walkways, all bearing the marks of time
Balaoye Manor | A Sino-Western style villa from the Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty, now serving as the Diaoyuan Village History Museum, quietly narrating the village’s long history
Zhongjiedi Archway | "Nine-tenths of calligraphy is unparalleled, eight generations of literary excellence" — the honor of the Ouyang family carved in stone and passed down through generations

Here, history is not only to be seen — it can be touched by hand
🏮Stay at Zhen X · Ji’an Diaoyuan: Sleep with Ancient Charm
28 rooms hidden between ancestral halls and lotus ponds, Ming and Qing old houses blended with modern design aesthetics. At midnight, open the window to see stars and moon hanging from the eaves, as if sharing a starry river with the ancients.
𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬:
1️⃣ It is recommended to stay 1 night and play for 2 days. The ancient village is most healing in the early morning without tourists, so quiet you can hear your breath;
2️⃣ Wear a pair of comfortable flat shoes, the bluestone paths are better for slow walking;
