Day 1: Jianchuan Ancient City → Jianhu Lake

✅️Jianchuan Ancient City
There are almost no tourists in the ancient city, which is very quiet. Walking along the bluestone streets of the ancient city, you can admire the buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties and feel the traditional architectural style of the Bai people. Jianchuan's wood carvings are very famous, and there are also some traditional handmade wood carving workers in the ancient city.

✅️Jianhu
It is about 15 minutes' drive from the ancient city. Jian Lake is not big but the water is clear. You can stroll along the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

✅️Shibaoshan
You can arrange a day to visit Shibaoshan, and the ticket plus the sightseeing bus costs 85 per person. The main landscapes include strange peaks and rocks, grottoes and Baoxiang Temple. Shibaoshan Grottoes, an artistic treasure of the Nanzhao period, has high historical and artistic value
Even if you take the sightseeing bus, you still need to climb the mountain. Several caves are worth seeing. Although some are locked, you can see them through the cracks in the door.
✅️Shaxi Ancient Town
I have been there seven times and there are many ancient buildings and traditional lifestyles preserved here. You can visit the Sifang Street, ancient theater, Yujin Bridge and other buildings in the ancient town to feel the historical charm of the ancient town. The surrounding Pioneer Bookstore and Mid-Levels Coffee are also worth a visit.

📍Jianchuan is more than 2 hours' drive from Dali. It is best to drive between several scenic spots🚗 or take a bus in Jianchuan County

1. Accommodation is recommended in Jianchuan County and Shaxi Ancient Town
2. Respect local customs and religious beliefs
3. All four seasons are good times to visit Dali, but it is best to avoid the peak season, as food and accommodation will be much cheaper in the off-season
4. Shibaoshan Scenic Area is quite large, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes for easy walking
5. Wangji Liangfen in Jianchuan Ancient Town, the local store has good food and is worth recommending
