When the brush of dusk gently tints the clouds along the Xin'an River
That brilliant splash of color unfolds like a dreamlike poem in the sky
Right by this picturesque riverside, the lights of Xixia Qingye
Twinkle like stars in the night sky, quietly illuminating
Transforming into a romantic and serene poem
It nestles quietly within the ancient Meicheng Town
Like a pearl treasured by time
Hotel: Jiande Xixia Qingye
Address: 19 Jiangnan Road, Sandu Town, Jiande!
Xixia Qingye is hidden in the ancient Meicheng Town by the Xin'an River, converted from an old factory. The designer embraced the concept of "blank space," blending weathered rammed earth walls, exposed wooden beams, and minimalist cement lines to create a tranquil, zen-like atmosphere. The public areas feature gray, white, and natural wood tones, complemented by dry landscape gardens and floor-to-ceiling glass walls that blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. Every corner feels like a frame from a film.
The hotel offers just 19 rooms, starting from 30 square meters. The interiors continue the zen aesthetic, with custom rattan furniture, linen bedding, and handcrafted pottery creating a natural feel, while smart toilets, Dyson hair dryers, and Marshall speakers enhance comfort. Windows frame views of the misty Xin'an River and distant mountains. Each room features floor heating and central air conditioning, making autumn and winter stays as warm as spring. The bathtubs face floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing guests to soak while watching the river dance with the sunset glow—the ultimate healing experience.
The restaurant specializes in local Jiande ingredients and creative cuisine. Breakfast is served as a nine-grid set meal featuring authentic yet refined Yanzhou baked cake, tofu buns, and water rice cake. For main meals, try the "Three River Delicacies"—white soup mandarin fish, rice wine steamed white fish threads, and preserved meat stir-fried with stone bamboo shoots—paired with homemade bayberry wine, enjoyed on the waterfront terrace where even the breeze tastes sweet.
The hotel offers complimentary Jiande Bao tea, with shelves full of art books. On rainy days, gather around the stove to brew tea; on sunny days, practice calligraphy—perfect for mindfulness. The infinity pool opens in summer, with its glass edge facing the Xin'an River, creating natural "sky mirror" photo opportunities. The hotel provides free mountain bikes to borrow; a 5 km ride along the Xin'an River greenway leads to Meicheng Ancient Town, with metasequoia trees lining the route like a journey through an ink painting.
