Jiangshan, Quzhou: A Hidden Gem You Must Visit During May Day Holiday!

Jiangshan in Quzhou is a hidden gem that's seriously underrated as a travel destination! I just returned from there last weekend and was completely surprised by how amazing it is. It perfectly fits the "off-the-beaten-path yet fun" travel standard, making it a must-visit spot for the May Day holiday! 🧳

🚞 Transportation Tips:
• High-speed trains go directly to Jiangshan Station, which is convenient and fast. There are also shuttle buses to scenic spots, making travel worry-free.
• If you have more time, driving is an excellent option. From Hangzhou, it's only a 3.5-hour drive. Since the attractions are somewhat spread out, having a car gives you more flexibility to go wherever you want.

🗺️ My Two-Day Itinerary:
• Day 1: Departed from Hangzhou, headed straight to Jianglang Mountain in the morning to experience nature's magnificent craftsmanship; visited Qingyang Ancient Village in the afternoon for an immersive experience of the historical heritage of the Mao clan in Jiangnan.
• Day 2: Strolled through Nianbadu Ancient Town in the morning to experience the unique charm of "one town across three provinces"; hiked along the Xianxia Ancient Trail in the afternoon to appreciate the majesty of this strategic military pass, before heading home with wonderful memories.

📷 Highlights:
• Jianglang Mountain: A 5A-rated scenic area and a prime example of Danxia landform. The views of Sanpian Mountain and Yixiantian are spectacular. The small hiking loop lets you avoid backtracking. During the May 1st holiday, you can participate in a mountain climbing challenge, and successful participants can claim a free coffee ☕, giving you a great sense of achievement!
• Nianbadu Ancient Town: Known as "a dream lost in the mountains," this town blends cultures from Zhejiang, Fujian, and Jiangxi provinces. Amazingly, its few thousand residents represent over a hundred surnames and speak 13 dialects! From Chenggong Pavilion on the back hill, you can overlook the entire ancient town. During the May Day holiday, there will be immersive performances where you can interact with costumed performers, making you feel like you've traveled back in time.
• Qingyang Ancient Village: The birthplace of the Mao clan in Jiangnan, featuring a 1,600-year-old ancestral temple. The Ming and Qing dynasty architecture is well-preserved, and there are few tourists. During the May Day holiday, you can participate in interactive performances and plant printing activities for a full experience.
• Xianxia Pass: A strategic military stronghold with breathtakingly beautiful scenery along the ancient trail. Very few tourists visit here, making it perfect for hiking enthusiasts who want to experience the weight of history.

⚠️ Travel Tips:
• Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Make sure your shoes have good traction for hiking.
• Protect yourself from the sun and stay hydrated during daytime activities. Bring some snacks to keep your energy up.
