If you are planning a journey to the west, you need to stop by at Jiayuguan / Jiayu Pass. Jiayuguan is not any ordinary great wall. Located in north western China, the Jiayuguan Fort once guarded Chinese dynasties from invading foreigners at this narrowest point of the western section of the Hexi Corridor between two hills. Standing at Jiayuguan Fort, one cannot help but think of those who once stood guard or traversed far distances, missing their loved ones and the bustling towns or villages where they came from. This place is very rich in history and culture.
