Jieyang Travel Guide: How to Avoid Pitfalls

Many people don't know that Jieyang belongs to the Chaoshan area. Before Shantou opened its port, this place was always called the Chaojie area.
⛱️Must-visit attractions: Jieyang Confucian Temple: Free. The red walls of the Confucian Temple are very eye-catching and make an excellent photography backdrop. The architecture is very beautiful, with red walls and green tiles, full of ancient charm. Photography enthusiasts should not miss Jinxianguan Gate.
As the name suggests, it is a city gate tower, and together with the pair of stone lions and old banyan tree in front, it has become a small park in the middle of the road.
Jieyang City God Temple, free, is located near the Jieyang Confucian Temple. It is currently the oldest, largest, and best-preserved ancient City God Temple building in Guangdong Province.
Jieyang Shuangfeng Temple | Free. A place of tranquility for the soul. Red walls and yellow tiles, flying eaves and dougong, every detail showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of ancient architecture. It looks beautiful when lit up at night.
Zhongshan Road: Nanyang-style arcade street, many local shops, now also has cafes, specialty fridge magnets, dessert shops, the best place to stroll! De'anli
It is the largest, best-preserved, and longest-standing giant mansion-style architectural complex in the Chaoshan area, and a rare mansion-style ancient village in China.
Binhe Bay Tourist Area
Huilai's "Little Sanya". The sand on the beach is fine and white, the scenery is breathtaking, and there is also the ancient Tianhou Temple.
Huangmanzhai Waterfall in Jiexi: Adult ticket 85 yuan.
The secret place of Jiexi, full of negative ions, is simply a gift from nature! The waterfall pours down like a silver chain, and occasionally you can see a rainbow in the mist under the sunlight!
Huanglong Temple, free
The biggest highlight is the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall built at the back of the temple, which looks very similar to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing from the outside, no wonder it is called the "Little Temple of Heaven in Chaoshan".
🌄Travel Tips: I recommend two of my favorite routes
1. Jiexi County, natural beauty
Depart from Shenzhen → Lunch: Lei Tea → Huangmanzhai Waterfall → Huanglong Temple → Dinner in Hepo Town: Funiu Farmhouse Restaurant (delicious)
The local specialty for dinner is bitter bamboo shoots, very bitter but very special!

2. Rongcheng District, city walk
Jinxianguan Gate → Breakfast: Hongxinmei (average) → Jieyang Confucian Temple → Leishen Temple and City God Temple → Shuangfeng Temple → Zhongshan Arcade Street → Ming and Qing Dynasty Residential Street → Rongjiang West Lake → Snack: West Lake Old Brand Specialty Almond Tea (delicious) → Lunch: Luji Beef Restaurant Chaoshan Beef Hotpot (super delicious) → Jieyang Tower → Dinner: Dongxing Raw Fish Porridge and Glutinous Rice Stuffed Pig Intestines (delicious)
Near Jieyang Confucian Temple: Fried salted egg yolk, not very impressive; Luo Family Old Brand Green Juice, oil olive juice is super delicious!
🏨Accommodation Tips: Recommend Hanting Hotel, "Jieyang Jinxianguan Store"
The old city area has a strong local life atmosphere, renting a shared electric bike to leisurely stroll through the alleys is really lovely.
