I Found It! Jieyang Is the Best Tourist Destination in Guangdong!

Friends, I can't believe some of you still don't know about Jieyang! On my recent trip, I discovered a hidden gem that's so beautiful it left me speechless. I just have to share it with you!

Day 1: I arrived in Jieyang in the morning and took a taxi to the hotel to check in. Jieyang is not a big city, so it's very convenient to get around by taxi or shared e-bike. After dropping off my luggage, I headed straight to Jieyang Xuegong (Confucian Academy). This ancient Lingnan building is incredibly well-preserved, with red walls, green tiles, carved beams, and painted rafters. It's full of historical charm and perfect for taking photos. I recommend spending 2–3 hours there.

Day 2: I woke up early and went to Huangqishan Mountain to overlook the entire city of Jieyang. The mountain air is fresh, and the scenery is pleasant. When you reach the top, you'll realize it was all worth it! After enjoying the beautiful view, I went down the mountain to visit Jinxian Gate, one of Jieyang's landmarks. There are many snacks around, so you can stroll and eat at the same time.

Day 3: I went to Jiexi Huangmanzhai Waterfall Cluster. The waterfalls here are magnificent, with splashing water, just like a fairyland. I recommend spending 3–4 hours there.

The sunrise at Huangqishan Mountain is truly breathtaking! Standing on the top of the mountain, bathed in the golden sunlight, overlooking the city gradually awakening, with clouds and mist swirling around the mountains—the beauty is beyond words!

Speaking of food, Jieyang is a foodie's paradise! I highly recommend Rongjiang Guozi Shop, which is near Jinxian Gate in Rongcheng District. Their signature guozi, served with marinated eggs, braised meat, and various side dishes, is full of local flavor. The soft and glutinous guozi absorbs the marinade, making every bite super flavorful. You must try it! Also, there's Axi Barbecue. Their grilled beef skewers are tender and juicy, sprinkled with special seasonings—they smell amazing!

I stayed at the Vienna Hotel Jieyang, located in the city center, making it super convenient to get around. There are also many places to eat nearby. The rooms are clean and tidy, the beds are comfortable, and the front desk service is very welcoming. It's excellent value for money.

It's best to buy tickets online in advance for Huangmanzhai Waterfall Cluster to avoid queuing on-site. Jieyang's summer temperatures are high, so be sure to take sun protection and mosquito repellent measures. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent spray.

Jieyang is truly a place full of surprises, with unforgettable scenery and cuisine. I believe you'll fall in love with it too. Plan your trip now!
