Jinan Jiefang Pavilion to learn about history
Jiefang Pavilion is a tourist attraction in Jinan, located in the southeast corner of the original Jinan city wall. It is separated from the Black Tiger Spring by only a moat. The Liberation Pavilion was built to commemorate the Chinese People's Liberation Army's capture of Jinan in the Jinan Campaign of the Second Kuomintang-Communist Civil War. Its site is the breakthrough point of the People's Liberation Army's siege on September 24, 1948. Admission is free and it commemorates the Kuomintang-Communist War and the victory of the Communist Party. There are related exhibitions on the upper two floors. I think visiting the Liberation Pavilion helped me better understand the history of that time.
