As a parent blogger who travels with kids more than ten times a year, my principle is: the itinerary must be beautiful, the kids must be happy, and the parents must not be tired! I personally tested Jinyun Xiandu during the National Day holiday, and this route perfectly meets the above three points, making it a "template for family trips in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai." Here is the detailed guide‼️
🌈 Core preparations before the trip (homework version)
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
1⃣️ Parking is key: During National Day, we arrived at the South Parking Lot before 9 AM. This was the start of our easy day—arrive early, choose any parking spot, and it’s only a 5-8 minute walk to the Visitor Center, perfectly avoiding peak crowds.
2⃣️ Must-buy transportation tool: Upon entering the Visitor Center, the first thing to do is buy the Scenic Shuttle Bus Ticket, 20 RMB per person, free for children under 1.2 meters. Unlimited rides, clear stops, a lifesaver for families with kids to save their legs!
3⃣️ Lock in show times: In the Visitor Center lobby, immediately take a photo of the “Old Man Leading the Ox” performance schedule on your phone! This is Xiandu’s signature show; plan your itinerary accordingly to catch it precisely and avoid any regrets for the kids.
🚗 Easy and relaxed family route plan

🔺 Overall plan:
South Parking Lot → Visitor Center (buy tickets/take show schedule photo) → Dinghu Peak (core check-in) → Yandang Study Room (cool down and explore) → Niwengdong Coffee (parents recharge) → Take shuttle bus to casually visit other spots
👉 First stop: Dinghu Peak. This is the essence of Xiandu; the huge stone pillar peaks will make kids say “wow.”
 🔥 Babysitting-level photo spots:
1⃣️ Classic stone bridge spot: Have the kids stand on the stone bridge with Dinghu Peak and its reflection in the water as the background. The photos look like a “National Geographic” kids edition.
2⃣️ Cultural ice cream check-in: Buy a Xiandu-shaped cultural ice cream at the snack shop below the peak, let the kids hold it up for a photo with the mountain, combining childlike fun and fairy charm—perfect for sharing on social media!
👉 Second stop: Yandang Study Room. This stone cave cool-down adventure is definitely the most exciting place for kids! A bookstore transformed from a quarry, it looks like a huge “rock castle.”
◼️ Adventure vibe: Kids wander through layers of caves, looking up at sunlight streaming from the rock ceiling, full of exploration fun.
◼️ Natural air conditioning: The cave is very cool, an excellent place to escape the midday heat and recharge.
⚠️ Parents note: Remind kids to speak softly; this is also a public reading space.
👉 Third stop: Niwengdong Coffee. It’s a short walk from Yandang Study Room. This is the parents’ recharge station! Sitting at the coffee shop at the cave entrance, with a cool breeze, kids can rest and snack a bit, while parents sip coffee and watch the green vines outside, instantly re-energized.
🔥 Must-order item: Latte with “Xiandu” printed on it. Not only delicious but also a great photo prop.
📝 Super practical family TIPS
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
✅ About the show: The “Old Man Leading the Ox” performance is at Zhutan Mountain; take the shuttle bus according to the schedule and arrive 10 minutes early to get a good spot.
✅ About food: There are snacks and simple meals inside the scenic area, but it’s recommended to bring some fruit and healthy snacks for the kids to replenish energy anytime.
✅ About clothing: Comfortable sneakers for kids are key! Although there is a shuttle bus throughout, walking is still required inside the scenic spots.
❤️ Parent blogger’s real feelings after babysitting

What surprised me about Jinyun Xiandu is that it perfectly balances the grandeur of natural scenery with the convenience of family facilities. The shuttle bus solves the biggest physical challenge, Yandang Study Room gives kids a unique adventure experience, and that cup of coffee at Niwengdong saved this tired mom. The whole day, the kids were happy, the parents not tired, and we gained plenty of beautiful photos and memories. This trip was perfect!
