Iconic Icon — Dehang Waterfall

The most iconic natural landmark of Dehang Village is the stunning Dehang Waterfall, also known as Aizhai Waterfall (矮寨大瀑布). It is one of the tallest waterfalls in Hunan Province, with a drop of about 216 meters (over 700 feet) cascading down a steep cliff into the lush canyon below.

The waterfall pours out from a sheer karst cliff surrounded by green peaks and misty forests, creating a dramatic, almost hidden paradise. It’s famous for its powerful flow during the rainy season and the magical sight of mist and rainbows forming in the valley.

Hiking to see the Dehang Waterfall is a highlight for visitors — you pass through bamboo groves, wooden bridges, and Miao villages until you reach the roaring curtain of water crashing into a turquoise pool.
