Trip to Jiuquan, China 🇨🇳

Jiuquan is an underrated gem in Gansu Province, blending history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. When we visited, we found some of the best photography spots that truly capture the essence of this beautiful city. If you’re planning a trip, here are three must-visit locations for the best pictures!

Jiuquan Park – Tranquil Beauty in Every Season 🌿
We explored Jiuquan Park and were amazed by its serene lakes, traditional pavilions, and vibrant seasonal flowers. The best time for photography is during sunrise or late afternoon when the soft lighting enhances the park’s natural beauty. In spring, the cherry blossoms create a dreamy atmosphere, while autumn adds golden hues to every corner. Don’t miss the arched bridges reflecting on the water—an ideal spot for a postcard-worthy shot!

Jiayuguan Pass – A Historic Marvel at Sunset 🏯
A short drive from Jiuquan, Jiayuguan Pass is the westernmost section of the Great Wall and a must-visit for history lovers and photographers alike. We visited in the late afternoon, just before sunset, and the golden light on the fortress walls made for a breathtaking shot. Walking along the ancient fortifications, we could feel the weight of history, and every angle offered a stunning perspective. The vast desert landscape in the background adds to the dramatic effect!

Crescent Lake & Singing Sand Dunes – A Desert Wonderland 🏜️
This surreal oasis in the middle of the Gobi Desert completely blew us away! We arrived before sunset, and the warm glow over the dunes created a magical contrast with the deep blue of Crescent Lake. The best photo spot is from the top of the dunes, where you get a panoramic view of the oasis surrounded by endless golden sands. Whether you’re capturing the play of light and shadows on the dunes or the camel caravans passing by, every shot here is a masterpiece.
