Zao & Tagajo: Embrace Nature and History
Currently, Miyagi Prefecture offers five "Miyagi Olle" trails, and this November, two new routes—Zao and Tagajo—will be added. Here's a brief introduction!

【Zao Route】
Starting Point: Zao Town Tourist Information Center (Togatta Onsen)
Ending Point: Zao Dairy Center & Cheese Cabin
The Zao Route begins at Togatta Onsen, allowing you to enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic Zao mountain range while walking along scenic highland paths. This route is perfect for experiencing the charm of Togatta Onsen, blending elements of history, local lifestyle, cuisine, and hot springs. Each season offers stunning landscapes and awe-inspiring views✨

【Tagajo Route】
Starting Point: JR Tagajo Station
Ending Point: Tagajo Ruins Guide Facility
Tagajo is a city rich in historical ambiance. This beginner-friendly route spans approximately 9 kilometers, showcasing historical landmarks and natural beauty along the way. Highlights include the National Treasure "Tagajo Monument," "Omowaku Bridge," "Noda no Tamagawa," and "Ukishima Shrine." The endpoint, "Tagajo South Gate," is said to be the main entrance to the ancient Tagajo fortress, a key site in northeastern Japan. Walking through this gate feels like stepping back in time to experience a thousand years of history!
