Jiuzhaigou: A Natural Wonderland That Feels Like Europe

Jiuzhaigou is one of the most impressive natural destinations in China. The atmosphere feels like stepping into a fairytale, with beauty that seems almost unreal. The lakes here feature stunning shades of blue and green, with crystal-clear water that makes you question if such a place truly exists. Jiuzhaigou was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.

There are nine main attractions, including lakes like Panda Lake and Mirror Lake, all characterized by their vibrant blue waters. The area also features waterfalls and Tibetan villages, each spot offering its own unique charm. For convenience, it’s recommended to book a private bus for a group of 20 people. This option saves you from long queues and provides closer access to the attractions (we had a Chinese friend book it for us). Alternatively, you can book through a tour company.

General Tour Information:
Tour Provider: GO China
Price: Around 30,000 THB
Duration: 5 full days (excluding travel days)
Itinerary: Four Sisters Mountain, Bipenggou, Huanglong, Jiuzhaigou, and Chengdu city

The weather is pleasantly cool, and the restrooms are clean, so there’s no need to worry. If you’re sensitive to high altitudes, make sure to prepare accordingly. We visited in July, and the weather was perfect—not too cold. However, every season has its own charm, whether it’s spring or snow-covered winter. You’ll need about 6-7 hours to explore Jiuzhaigou, and there are restaurants inside for meals. It’s truly a breathtaking experience that will leave you wanting to return again and again!
