Here comes the super comprehensive 3 days 2 nights Jiuzhaigou guide! The water here is absolutely stunning, as blue as if a palette was spilled, every shot is a masterpiece📸
🚶♀️Itinerary:
Day 1:
📍Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area: It’s recommended to enter the park at 8 AM to avoid peak crowds. The park is Y-shaped; start with Rize Valley (Nuorilang Waterfall - Mirror Lake - Pearl Shoal), have a light meal at Nuorilang Central Station at noon, then continue to Zechawa Valley in the afternoon (Long Lake - Five Color Pool). Staying at a hotel inside the park can save you from paying the entrance fee twice~
Day 2:
📍Continue deep exploration: Focus on Shuzheng Valley (Rhinoceros Lake - Tiger Lake - Shuzheng Lakes) on the second day. Remember to wear comfortable shoes as the walking distance inside the park is quite long. In the afternoon, visit a Tibetan family to experience Tibetan culture.
Day 3:
📍Huanglong Scenic Area: About 2 hours’ drive from Jiuzhaigou, the Five Color Pool here rivals Jiuzhaigou, but the altitude is higher so be mindful of altitude sickness. It’s recommended to set off early and return to Chengdu in the afternoon.
🍲Food recommendations:
✅Tibetan-style earthen hotpot: local specialty, yak meat is super fragrant
✅Qingke cake: crispy outside and tender inside, perfect with butter tea
✅Yogurt: naturally fermented, sweet and sour
⚠️Useful tips:
1⃣️Altitude sickness alert! Don’t rush to shower upon arrival, drink plenty of water
2⃣️Big temperature difference between morning and night, remember to bring a jacket
3⃣️No restaurants inside the park, bring your own snacks
4⃣️Best time to visit is September to October, the autumn colors are the most beautiful
5⃣️Due to current visitor limits, remember to book tickets in advance
