At Baochan Mountain Scenic Area, visitors can enjoy the natural beauty and historic landmarks. Recommended activities include:

Baochan Mountain, formerly known as Huashan, is located 7.5 kilometers northeast of Hanshan County. It was named after the Zen Master Huibao, who built his hut at the foot of the mountain during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty ( 627-649 ) and was buried there. Baochan Temple is located on the mountain. The legends of Huayang Fairy Cave and Baochan Misty Rain are also mentioned on Baochan Mountain. The name " Huayang Fairy Cave " stems from the legend that immortals traveled here.
Huayang Cave is 1,600 meters deep and consists of four caves: the Heavenly Cave, the Stele Cave, the Gate Cave, and the Earth Cave. The Stele Cave is particularly deep and features numerous inscriptions from past visitors. Wang Anshi, a renowned writer from the Northern Song Dynasty, visited the cave and explored it with a torch, writing his timeless masterpiece, "A Record of a Journey to Mount Baochan," which has since become a significant contribution to literary history. The characters " Huayang " were written by Fan Weimei of Haiyang in 1613 AD , during the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty .
