Mist and Rain in Jixi: A Must-Visit Stunning Spot

Hiking the Huizhou-Hangzhou Ancient Trail in Jixi during the blooming season of crape myrtle flowers 🌸, this hidden gem in summer is such a delightful surprise! A thousand-year-old ancient trail, clear mountain breeze, endless crape myrtle blossoms, and quaint Huizhou villages—few people, beautiful scenery, and perfect for photos～

🚶‍♀️Recommended Hiking Route:
Arrive at 8 AM at the Huizhou-Hangzhou Ancient Trail Scenic Area (Jiangnan Village, Fuling Town, Jixi County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province). It’s recommended to buy a combined ticket including the sightseeing bus to save energy for hiking. The entire trail is about 15 kilometers; we spent 6 hours completing the most scenic middle section.

🌺Must-Visit Spots Along the Way:
1. Xiaoyao Valley
The creek water is crystal clear, a great place to rest and enjoy the cool mountain spring (remember to bring non-slip creek shoes)
2. Lantian’ao
At an altitude of 1050 meters, this highest point offers a spectacular sea of clouds and is also where the crape myrtle flowers bloom most profusely
3. Qingliang Peak
The summit offers excellent views; it’s best to arrive before 10 AM when the lighting is ideal for photos
4. Huizhou-Hangzhou Family Farmhouse (midway on the trail)
Highly recommend their native chicken soup and cured meat with dried bamboo shoots stew, very satisfying for about 50 RMB per person

🌿Hiking Tips:
✅Start hiking at 7 AM in July and August to avoid the midday heat
✅Few supply points along the way, bring at least 2L of water and energy bars
✅Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Important enough to say three times
✅Wear professional hiking shoes; some sections are slippery due to moss
✅Remember to bring medicated oil to prevent heatstroke

🏡Accommodation Recommendations:
Hotels in Jixi County are cost-effective; we recommend Huishang Guli Hotel (15 minutes by car from the trail entrance), around 200+ RMB per night in the off-season, including breakfast. For an authentic Huizhou-style guesthouse experience, several unique options are available within the Longchuan Scenic Area.
