Joshua Tree feels like a surreal art installation created by nature. The odd, spiky Joshua trees scattered across a boulder-filled desert are unlike anything I’ve seen. I spent the day rock climbing in Hidden Valley, watching the sun turn the rocks golden. At night, the park became a stargazer’s paradise — I’ve never seen the Milky Way so vividly. The mix of the Mojave and Colorado deserts gives the park a variety of landscapes to explore. There’s something both peaceful and mysterious about Joshua Tree; it’s the perfect place to unplug and reconnect with nature’s stranger side.
