Experience the history and beauty of Kagoshima at Reimeikan Museum, an intellectual and moving museum trip

#AbsolutelyFreeTrip

Built on the site of the former main keep of Kagoshima Castle (Tsurumaru Castle), the Kagoshima Prefectural History and Art Center Reimeikan is a large facility offering comprehensive instruction on Kagoshima's history, culture, and art. 🏯
I visited on a rainy day, but the museum was spacious and quiet, allowing me to thoroughly enjoy the exhibits.
The exhibits on the late Edo period and Meiji Restoration are particularly impressive, allowing visitors to retrace the footsteps of great figures from Satsuma, such as Saigo Takamori and Shimazu Nariakira. ✨
The museum is packed with features, including large dioramas, videos, quizzes, and even armor try-on experiences, making learning fun even for those who aren't particularly history-conscious!
Numerous valuable cultural assets are also on display, allowing visitors to experience the "wisdom and beauty" of Kagoshima.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll alone or share your impressions with your partner.
Reimeikan is the perfect place for a journey of learning and inspiration that will satisfy your intellectual curiosity. 📚
