If you’re tired of crowded spots in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, I have to share this charming, off-the-radar city with you 🧭✨
The moment you drive into Kaihua, you’ll be greeted by the crystal-clear Majin Creek, flanked by lush mountains and peaceful eco-villages. Think:
✅ Picturesque countryside views
✅ Free 5A scenic spots
✅ Delicious food & budget-friendly vibes
💦 Summer is perfect for cooling off in the water — quiet and refreshing.
🔥 In winter, explore ancient villages, savor spicy Quzhou-style dishes, and embrace a slower rhythm of life.
🌿 My 3-Day, 2-Night “Super Chill” Itinerary:
Day 1:
📍 Root Palace Buddhist Kingdom
📍 Xiayu Village
Day 2:
📍 Xiashan Ancient Village
Day 3:
📍 Gaotian Keng Village
📍 Taihuishan Mountain
🧭 About the Places:
① Root Palace Buddhist Kingdom (根宫佛国)
A massive 5A-level scenic spot that's free on weekdays! The root sculptures are stunning, and the traditional architecture is beautifully crafted. Great for a relaxing visit with family.
② Xiayu Village (下淤村)
Titled one of “China’s Ten Most Beautiful Villages.” In winter, the mist curls through the valleys like ink wash paintings 🎨🫧
Quiet, serene, and absolutely meditative. In summer, it’s a popular spot to cool down.
③ Xiashan Ancient Town (霞山古镇)
Over 300 ancient homes from the Ming, Qing, and early Republic era. It’s full of Hui-style architecture, and in summer, the gently flowing Majin Creek makes it a dreamy place to beat the heat.
④ Taihuishan Mountain (台回山)
Terraced fields roll down like green waves, with misty rooftops nestled in between — like a real-life “castle in the sky” 🏔️☁️
Come in spring for blooming canola flowers — it’s a golden paradise.
⑤ Gaotian Keng Village (高田坑村)
Reminds me of Songyang’s Yangjiatang Village — the earth-toned houses are tightly clustered in layers, with a cozy, artsy vibe.
They’ve even added a little library and a café — perfect for a quiet day of reading and sipping ☕📚
