A seriously underrated treasure town near Guangzhou, reachable within an hour by high-speed rail.
Here you can find century-old arcade buildings blending Lingnan traditional architectural style with Western elements, gondola boats like those in Jiangnan, and the occasional ding-ding tram passing through the streets. At night, there are intangible cultural heritage performances such as iron flower shows and fireworks, instantly transporting you back to the Republic of China era.
