The psychedelic Chikan Ancient Town in Kaiping

Kaiping Diaolou is well-known, but few people know that Kaiping has opened a new tourist attraction this year, Chikan Ancient Town. The ancient town was also a commercial center in the past, with large arcade buildings, as well as the ancestral halls of the original residents Guan and Situ and some other historical buildings. The arcades attract many people to check in, and the scenic area offers trams (50/person) and cruise ships (80/person for sharing a boat, charter a boat for 6 people), which are also good ways to experience the scenery. The park ticket price is 120 yuan per person, and now it has just opened with a discounted price of 60 yuan per person. For children under 120cm, tickets and tram rides are free, and boat rides are half price.

The most fascinating thing about the scenic spot is that it looks a lot like a film and television studio or Disney, but it is actually a complex of buildings with a long history. Maybe because there are no shops here yet and the original residents have all moved out, the atmosphere is less lively.
