[Kanagawa Prefecture/Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine] Kamakura's most famous tourist spot

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine was founded as the guardian deity of the Genji clan.
This shrine is closely associated with Minamoto no Yoritomo, who founded the Kamakura shogunate. Approximately 800 years have passed since its founding, and it is the Ichinomiya (first shrine) of Sagami Province!

At the end of the approach to the shrine is the dance hall, and if you walk further, you will see a slightly sloping stone staircase.
On the left is the sacred ginkgo tree.
The large ginkgo tree fell in 2010, but thanks to ongoing efforts, it is now growing vigorously again. You can really feel the vitality of the sacred tree.

The "eight" in the name of Hachimangu on the plaque hanging on the tower gate is represented by a dove, as doves are considered to be sacred messengers of the gods.
The main shrine is magnificent, and unfortunately, photography is not permitted.
It was a wonderful experience to admire the sight while praying!
