[Kanagawa Prefecture] Engakuji Temple, the head temple of the Rinzai sect in Kita-Kamakura

Engakuji Temple is located in Kita-Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is the head temple of the Rinzai sect and one of the leading Zen temples in Japan. It was built to spread the teachings of Zen to the people, pray for peace in the country, and mourn the many victims of the Mongol invasion. The temple grounds are much larger than you would imagine from the outside, and there are many interesting spots such as the mountain gate, which is said to dispel worldly desires and was the setting for Natsume Soseki's works, and the Shariden Hall, a national treasure, so I was able to take a leisurely stroll. One of the things that caught my eye was the Hongzhong, a national treasure like the Shariden Hall. The Hongzhong Festival, which is held once every 60 years, is held to celebrate the temple. This "Hong Bell" was impressive up close 👀
If you ring this bell on New Year's Eve, it will reverberate for thousands of miles...lol

Wind chimes are hung on the stone steps along the way for a limited time,
so you can feel the coolness of summer 🎐

It was a magnificent place where you can feel the beginning of samurai culture along with history while surrounded by the fresh greenery of summer 😌

※I thought the goshuin would be written in advance, but they wrote it for me 👍
I really like the style of writing it on the spot 🙌
