Kamakura | A Walking Map to Avoid the Crowds

Kamakura | A Walking Map to Avoid the Crowds
Kamakura, 1 hour from Tokyo, is like a parallel world in Japanese anime. In addition to popular places in front of high schools, there are also quiet streets and coasts. Walking through it, you can find different scenery.

🧳Preparation
✅Documents: Passport (valid for more than 6 months), Japanese visa (single electronic visa is enough)
✅Data: Buy a data package on Alipay in advance (international roaming is very expensive)
✅Payment: Many places support Alipay (but you still need to prepare a small amount of cash, as some small shops only accept cash)
✅Transportation: You can use a Suica card for daily travel (or buy a day pass)
🏔 Must-see attractions
❶ Gokurakuji Temple
From the station, walk along the alleys, and the ancient buildings and quiet streets show the unique atmosphere of Kamakura. There are also several small cafes and shops along the way, with a relaxed atmosphere.
▪️Transportation: Take the Enoden to Gokurakuji Station

❷ Yuigahama Beach
There are fewer tourists here, and the coastline covered with fine sand is clean and tidy. You can pick up shells while walking, and occasionally find starfish.
▪️Transportation: Take the Enoden to Yuigahama Station and walk for about 5 minutes

❸ Inamuragasaki Park
The best place to take photos of Mount Fuji and Enoshima in the same frame (personal opinion)
▪️Transportation: Take the Enoden to Inamuragasaki Station and walk for about 7 minutes

❹ Inamuragasaki Park ↔ Shichirigahama Beach
In addition to walking along the coastline, you can also walk into the alleys of the residential area and see the sea and the Enoden passing through the streets.
▪️Transportation: Walk for about 15 minutes to Shichirigahama Beach

❺ Shichirigahama Beach
Shichirigahama Beach is wide and suitable for leisurely walks. Taking photos of Mount Fuji, sunset, and sea views in the same frame is beautiful.
▪️Transportation: Inamuragasaki Park is within walking distance to Shichirigahama Beach
