1. Kencho-ji Temple
📍Location: 8 Yamanouchi, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, 247-8525
💰Price per person: Adults 500 yen, Children 200 yen
💓Highlights:
This Zen temple is famous as the birthplace of Kenchin-jiru soup. While the nearby Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine⛩️ is well-known, I personally prefer this spot!!
Here’s why:
- It’s less crowded, allowing for a more peaceful visit.
- You can leisurely enjoy the architecture and serene Japanese ambiance.
- There’s a small hill, and on clear days, you can even see Mount Fuji🗻 from the top.
Highly recommended for those planning a trip to Kamakura but wanting to avoid large crowds🌸.
2. Tenshin-an
📍Location: 7 Yamanouchi, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, 247-0062
💰Price per person: 1,000–2,000 yen
💓Highlights:
A famous restaurant known for its delicious Kenchin-jiru soup.
3. Iwata Coffee Shop
📍Location: 1-5-7 Komachi, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, 248-0006
💰Price per person: 1,000–2,000 yen
💓Highlights:
I visited around 4:00 PM. There was a small line, and I waited about 15–20 minutes, but it was absolutely worth it! The taste was so delightful it left me sighing with happiness😮💨🥞💓.
The pancakes are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a subtle sweetness that’s simple yet addictive. Honestly, I’ve tried pancake specialty shops in Tokyo, but this was hands down the best I’ve ever had🌟👑.
I wholeheartedly recommend this place!
